1. Klein Tools KNECT Pass Through Socket Set (Best Overall Under $50)

This is the socket set I think everyone should own. Regular sockets bottom out on long bolts and all-thread, and you run out of room. With a pass through set, the bolt passes through the socket and the ratchet itself. That lets you drive the nut down as far as you need without a deep well socket in most cases.

Flip sockets are one of the smartest designs I own. The sockets slip onto one impact rated shaft that goes in your impact driver. You flip the one you need to the outside, and the rest store on the shaft behind it. If you do not need them, they slip right off.

This is one of the best hidden gems I have found at Lowe's this year. It runs about $35, and I have seen similar sets cost up to three times as much. It is compact enough to toss in a truck or toolbox. Every bit and socket snaps in and holds tight, so your 10 mm socket should never go missing as long as you put it back.

You get a mini ratchet, a screwdriver handle, and a 1/4-inch socket adapter that works with both. There is also an impact adapter, so the bits work in your impact driver. Slide covers keep the ratchet and adapter from bouncing out.

This is one of the most popular table saw accessories at Lowe's right now. The center leg slides out over the blade at any position. That lets you hold both the offcut and the workpiece as you push through the cut. The bottom is very grippy, too.

My favorite detail is the handle, which tilts to the left. I always say do not stand in the no zone, right behind where a piece could kick back. The tilt gives you extra reach while you stand to the left of the blade. At just under $40, I see why a thousand of these sell every week.

6. CRAFTSMAN 3HP Shop Vac (Model #CMXECXA8200344)

I almost walked right past this little shop vac at Lowe's. It is 3 peak horsepower, wet and dry, and $39.98 through October 29, 2026. It has plenty of suction for a pile of sawdust. I see it as a benchtop dust collector for sanders, routers, and circular saws.

It does not friction fit my DeWALT 20v Random Orbital Sander. The suction still held it on for normal tasks, which surprised me. I added CRAFTSMAN Shop Vac Bags to keep fine dust from clogging the filter. It comes with brush tools, a floor sweeper, and a crevice tool, so it works for the car, too.

Metabo HPT Cordless Framing Nailer: The One Tool Over $50 Worth It

This is well over $50, but it is one of the most talked about tools of 2026. The Metabo HPT 21-Degree Nailer (Model #NR1890DRBQRY) works like a pneumatic nailer with no hose. It runs on the Metabo HPT 18-volt platform. Most cordless nailers, even brad nailers, are heavy. This one is not.

Lowe's invited me to a trade show where I held it next to a competitor's nailer. The weight difference was night and day. I bought this one myself, and it is still manageable with the battery on. It also has a lot of power in both single fire and bump fire.

No hose, no compressor, and plenty of power for framing.

A twist knob on top sets nail depth if you are overdriving. It has a rafter hook on one side and a belt clip on the other. There is also an adapter that lets you run it corded instead of on a battery. It comes in 21-degree and 30-degree versions. I have also tested the Metabo HPT track saw and cordless router, and both are fantastic.

If you frame, this is the one I would buy. Pick up a box of 21-Degree Framing Nails with it.
