JessEm Dowel Jig Review (08359)
I had no idea Lowe's sold this jig. It is fully stainless steel and will last a lifetime. It is one of the few buy-it-for-life tools that is actually worth it.
You can buy it in single sizes of 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 inch. I prefer the complete kit because it covers all three. The kit comes with the drill bit and stop collars. The top knobs are gear driven, so they lock into place when you tighten them, which makes setup more precise.
Each drill guide has a small V notch on the end. Mark the center of your board with a center marking tool, then line the notch up with your mark. Clamp the jig down with any clamp you own. I used a Jorgensen quick clamp and got a perfect 90 degree butt joint in 3/4 inch walnut.
For edge-to-edge panels, the indexing feature is the standout. Drill two holes, slip the index into one, clamp, and drill the next. The holes line up perfectly and the panel comes out flat. I built the outside structure of my workbench with dowel joints, and they are very strong.

JessEm Precision Square Review: 6, 8, and 12 Inch
This is another JessEm tool I did not know Lowe's carried. These squares have features I have not seen on any other square. JessEm keeps raising the bar with each new release.
The Flex Grip surface feels like sandpaper, but it is laser etched into the square. Press it down and it grips the wood without damaging it, so it does not slide while you mark. The cutout design also lets the square flex a tiny bit.
A balance tab slides out in line with the blade and keeps the square from tipping off your stock. Built-in notches let you draw parallel layout lines. The laser-etched markings are black on silver and easy to read.
The measurements start at the base of the blade and run up. That makes it useful for setting bit and blade heights. The inside of the square is marked the same way. I like the 6 inch for general layout and the 12 inch for bigger projects.

If you have never cut box joints, this jig makes it dead simple. I had it set up in minutes and cut perfect box joints on my first try. It is one of the easiest box joint jigs on the market.
My router table did not have the right track style for it. I clamped it down with my T-track clamps and it worked fine. It includes the indexing key and spacing, so you just make a cut, move over, and follow the directions.

Kreg Precision Setup Bars for Router and Table Saw Setup (PRS3400)
I have owned this set for about six years. It is one of the best ways I know to set up tools with precision. I use it to set router bit depth and the distance from my table saw fence to the blade.
The bars also work at the band saw and for checking hole depths. The sizes start at 1/8 inch, and each bar is marked on the front. Every point on a bar measures the same, so a 1/2 inch bar reads 1/2 inch on all three points.
They come in a storage box, which makes it easy to put them back and not lose any. If you set up tools often, this box can be solid gold in your shop.

These are some of the most compact and lightweight sawhorses I have seen, and they still hold 1,000 lbs. When I saw them, I knew I had to buy them. Most portable folding sawhorses are bulky, but these are not.
