Most folks think they need a massive building to do high-quality woodworking. I’m here to tell you that you don't. What you actually need are smarter upgrades to maximize the space you already have. Whether you are working out of a one-car garage or a tiny basement, the right small shop upgrades can make a cramped workspace feel bigger, cleaner, and way more efficient.

The first thing on my list is the best portable workbench I have ever seen. Most portable benches are flimsy plastic, but the Pinie WorkTop Workstation is made from solid European birch. The Pinie Folding Workbench is another solid option for a portable workbench.

• Space Efficient: It takes up minimal room in storage but folds out into a traditional workbench.

• Sturdy Design: Because of the way it expands, it is incredibly sturdy compared to other options.

• Woodworking Features: It includes a traditional Moxon-style vise and dog holes, which you rarely see on portable units.

• Better Height: It stands at 36 inches (countertop height), so you aren't stooped over while working.
