New Kreg Track Saw 2026: Universal Track

By Matt Outlaw  ·  731 Woodworks  ·  September 17, 2026

The new Kreg track saw (ACSSAWUNIV corded, KPTPS200B cordless) now runs on universal-style track, the same geometry Festool, Makita, and Milwaukee use. I went to Kreg in Des Moines, Iowa, for a first look before release. Here is what changed, what it means if you already own one, and how the new $99.99 Accu-Cut fits in.

The Short Answer

  • The new Kreg track saw switches to a universal-style base and track. Festool, Makita, and Milwaukee track saws can now run on Kreg track.
  • The motor and blade housing carry over. The big changes are the base plate and a new anti-tip feature for bevel cuts.
  • It comes corded (ACSSAWUNIV) or 20V cordless (KPTPS200B), sold bare or with track.
  • Owners of the old Kreg track saw stay supported, with old tracks still sold and base plate upgrade kits available.
  • The Accu-Cut is $99.99 and the Track Square is $49.99. Most of the lineup is scheduled for September 2026.

What Changed on the New Kreg Track Saw

The track saw is my favorite woodworking tool, so I jumped at an early look. Scott from Kreg walked me through the redesign. At its core, the new saw is very close to the original. The motor and blade housing are about the same. The real change is the base plate.

When Kreg launched its track saw in 2018, only a handful of brands sold track saws in the US. Back then there were three or four different track styles. Since then, most brands have settled on one track geometry. Kreg moved to that universal style, so the new base fits standard tracks like Festool, Milwaukee, and Makita. It also works the other way. Those brands' saws can run on Kreg track. I honestly never thought Kreg would do this.

The second change is one I pushed for. Kreg told me they heard my feedback from my earlier review and added an anti-tipping feature. Now when you bevel the saw over on the track, it stays locked down.

The new anti-tip feature keeps the Kreg track saw locked to the track during bevels.

Kreg's old tracks already had some of the best grip strips and anti-chip performance in their own testing. The new tracks use a very similar grippy material on the bottom. The chip strip got a slight change but keeps the same rigid material. That keeps it in tight contact with your workpiece.

Both versions are back, corded and 20V cordless. The corded saw was also recolored to match the cordless model. You can buy either one bare or with a track. For everything else Kreg is launching this year, I broke down the full list of new Kreg tools for 2026.

Kreg Accu-Cut 2026: Turn a Circular Saw Into a Track Saw (ACS2700)

If you own a circular saw, this is the part that matters most to you. The Accu-Cut lets you use almost any circular saw on a true track. It is Kreg's entry point into track-guided cutting. This is the first major refresh it has had in years.

The sled is completely redesigned. The old one held the saw at two points up front. The new sled has four clamping points to hold your saw down. You twist the knobs to pop the saw out. Three reference points remember exactly where the saw sat. So you can pull it out for rough work like subfloor, then drop it back in for fine cuts.

Spring features in the sled keep it aligned to the slot on the track, and there is very little play. The starting block tells you how far to offset the track. It gives you plenty of lead-in for a long cut. It also lifts your blade guard out of the way, so you are not fighting it as you enter the cut.

The redesigned Kreg Accu-Cut sled turns a standard circular saw into a track-guided saw.

The Accu-Cut is $99.99. It comes with the sled, two track segments, two sets of connector bars for the top and bottom, and the starting block. The tracks get the same chip strips, friction strips, and glide strips as Kreg's track saw tracks. We made a big cut in a parking lot with just the short tracks, and it worked great.

The biggest upgrade is where it fits in the system. The Accu-Cut used to have its own track, separate from Kreg's track saw. Now it shares the same profile as the new ACS tracks. If you start with the Accu-Cut and later buy a track saw, you keep those tracks. Pair the two short tracks with a 62-inch track and you can cut a full sheet of plywood lengthwise.

Kreg's own circular saw can also ride the Accu-Cut track directly, no sled needed. It runs on the opposite side of the track from the sled setup. That gives you an entry-level track saw experience with a saw you might already own.

Can You Use a Festool, Makita, or Milwaukee Track Saw on the Kreg Table?

Yes. The switch to universal-style track opens the Kreg project table to other brands' track saws. Kreg would obviously love for you to run their saw. But if you already own a different brand, you now have a table option.

The table raises the track just enough to clear your material. You loosen the hinges on the side, set it just above the workpiece, and crank it down tight. It has enough height to cut a 4x4. The grid pattern handles 45 and 90 degree cuts. It comes with guides for crosscuts, bevel miter cuts, and standard rips.

You get chip support on both the top and bottom of the cut, from the track and the table. It has the capacity to crosscut a full sheet of plywood. For a lot of shops, a setup like this can replace a miter saw. Depending on what you build, it can sometimes replace a table saw too. Several people at Kreg have replaced both with this system.

The Kreg saw uses a blade-left design. As you walk down the table, right-handed users get a clear view of the cut line. Scott is left-handed and likes both, but plenty of right-handed users prefer this layout.

Kreg Track Square for 90 and 45 Degree Cuts (ACS4590)

The Kreg Track Square is a $49.99 accessory for fast, square crosscuts on a track. It uses a wedge mount, so it fits almost every track on the market. A handful of tracks with wider T-slots will not work.

You slide it into the end of your track and position it anywhere along the length. Tightening the thumb screw drives the wedge down. That forces the reference edge into the track, squaring it to the grooves. It is labeled for left and right bladed saws. Move the wedge to the back side and you get a 45 degree reference for both.

The Kreg Track Square locks into the track with a wedge mount.

Both reference surfaces are precision machined. That covers the edge against the track and the face against your workpiece. A leveling tab helps on smaller tracks, though the square is not heavy enough to twist a track over. Kreg tried aluminum and found it too light, so they went with a heavier cast material. It also locks neatly into the Accu-Cut track.

Kreg Track Lengths: 26-1/2, 55, and 62 Inch

Kreg is offering three track lengths in the new universal style. The 26-1/2 inch track is new for Kreg. It sells on its own and is also what comes with the Accu-Cut. The 55-inch track matches the common industry length. The 62-inch track stays in the lineup for the project table.

I wish every brand made a 62-inch track. It gives you room before and after the cut. With a 55-inch track across a sheet of plywood, you have to get it just right. Otherwise you plunge a little extra or nearly run off the track before the cut starts.

Will My Old Kreg Track Saw Still Work?

This was my first question for Scott. Kreg says it will fully support owners of the original track saw for the foreseeable future. The old tracks will stay available.

If you want to move to the universal platform, Kreg will offer upgrade kits. Those let you swap the base plate on your existing saw. You do not have to replace a saw that already works for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the new Kreg track work with Festool track saws?

Yes. Kreg moved to a universal-style track geometry, the same style Festool, Makita, and Milwaukee use. That means those brands' track saws can run on the new Kreg track. The new Kreg saw base also fits their standard tracks.

Can I upgrade my old Kreg track saw to the universal track?

Yes. Kreg will offer upgrade kits that swap out the base plate on your existing saw. If you would rather stay put, Kreg says it will keep selling the old tracks and fully support original owners.

How much is the new Kreg Accu-Cut?

The new Kreg Accu-Cut is $99.99. It includes the redesigned sled, two track segments, two sets of connector bars, and the starting block. Its tracks share the same profile as Kreg's track saw tracks, so you keep them if you upgrade later.

Will the Kreg Track Square fit my track?

Most likely. The Kreg Track Square uses a wedge mount that fits almost every track on the market. A handful of tracks with wider T-slots are not compatible. It is $49.99 and works for 90 and 45 degree cuts with left or right bladed saws.

What length tracks does Kreg make?

Kreg offers 26-1/2 inch, 55-inch, and 62-inch universal-style tracks. The 26-1/2 inch track is new and also comes with the Accu-Cut. I prefer the 62-inch track for sheet goods because it gives you room before and after the cut.

When is the new Kreg track saw coming out?

Kreg scheduled most of these changes for September 2026. That includes the redesigned track saw, the universal tracks, and the refreshed Accu-Cut. Check the links above for current availability.
