Top Secret New Tools for 2026: What I Found at the Lowe’s Creator Summit

I just got back from the Lowe's Creator Summit, and let me tell you—the future of woodworking and construction is looking bright (and cordless!). They invited a few of us out to get a "top secret" look at tools that haven't even hit the shelves yet. I’m talking about revolutionary battery tech, miter saws that defy the laws of space, and nailers that finally cut the cord without losing the punch.

In this post, I’m breaking down the most exciting reveals from Bosch, Klein, Metabo HPT, Craftsman, and Kobalt. Whether you’re a hobbyist woodworker or a pro on the job site, these upgrades are going to change how you work.

1. Bosch’s Game-Changing Expert Battery Tech

The biggest buzz at the summit was definitely the new Bosch Expert Battery line. While the "Expert" tabless versions aren't out quite yet, their current Bosch 18V Core Batteries are still best-in-class for cooling.

If you've been around a shop long enough, you know heat is the silent killer of batteries. Bosch is tackling this with "tabless" cell technology and cooling fins that dissipate heat better than anything else I've seen.

Why the "Tabless" Design Matters:

  • More Power, Same Size: A 4Ah Expert battery will now do the work of an 8Ah battery without the extra bulk.

  • Easier Release: No more wrestling with the battery to get it off the tool. They’ve added a simple pull-lever.

  • Built-in Diagnostics: If you hold the power button for 3 seconds, the battery cycles through its cells to tell you if a specific cell is bad.

2. The Return of the King: Bosch Glide Miter Saw Upgrades

The Bosch Glide Saw has always been a favorite in my shop because of that articulating arm—it saves so much space since you don't have rails sticking out the back.

Coming in June 2026, the new Expert model is getting some serious upgrades, including Shadow Line Technology. As someone who is red-green colorblind, I struggle with lasers. This saw uses a shadow light that works even in bright sunlight.

While we wait for that saw to drop, you can check out the other Bosch tools I trust in my shop:

3. Metabo HPT: The Cordless Pneumatic Revolution

For years, the "Holy Grail" for framers has been a cordless nailer that is as fast and light as a pneumatic one. Metabo HPT might have finally done it with their Gen 3 Cordless Framing Nailer. It fires six nails per second and feels significantly lighter than previous cordless versions. This one is hitting stores soon, so keep an eye out!

4. Workshop Organization with Klein and Craftsman

A clean shop is a safe shop, and I saw some great storage and support solutions from brands I love.

5. Beginner-Friendly Innovation from Kobalt

Kobalt is leaning hard into the DIY space with some really smart features on their new 24V line.

  • Finish Mode: This is huge for beginners. You can set the driver to "Finish Mode," and it will electronically stop the screw perfectly flush with the wood every time.

  • USB-C Integration: Their new Kobalt Drill and Driver Kit features USB-C in and out on the batteries.

If you're looking to overhaul your shop space, don't miss the Kobalt Garage Storage options they had on display as well.

Final Thoughts & Safety First

Seeing these tools in person reminded me how much easier (and safer) woodworking is becoming. From anti-kickback features to better visibility, the tech is really catching up to the needs of the modern woodworker.

If you want to stay on top of when these hit the shelves—and more importantly, when they go on sale—make sure you're on my list!
