Best RYOBI Tools of 2026: The New Releases I Bought and Actually Use

By Matt Outlaw  ·  731 Woodworks  ·  August 19, 2026

RYOBI has released a pile of new tools this year, and I bought every one of these with my own money. This is my running list of the best RYOBI tools of 2026, starting with the 18V cut-off tool (PSBCS02B) that turned out to be the most versatile of the bunch. Half of what is on this page is brand new, and the other half most people have never seen.

The Short Answer

  • My top pick is the RYOBI 18V ONE+ HP cut-off tool, model PSBCS02B, because it cuts metal, tile and plastic with one tool.
  • The best surprise is the RYOBI Microtechnology screwdriver kit, model FVD02K, a rechargeable micro driver kit with a bit magnetizer built in.
  • The best emergency tool is the RYOBI 40V power station, model RYi1802BT, with three 120V outlets and four battery bays.
  • Every 18V tool here runs on the same ONE+ batteries you already own, and every light here runs on USB Lithium.
  • None of this is sponsored. I bought all of it.

The Best RYOBI Tools of 2026 So Far

If I had to pick one tool off this list, it is the RYOBI 18V cut-off tool, model PSBCS02B. It does more jobs than anything else RYOBI has put out this year.

It cuts metal, tile, plastic and a good bit more. Different cutter wheels are available for different materials, so you pop one on and make the cut. That range is the whole argument for it. Most cutting tools do one thing.

It has a forward and reverse switch, which matters more than it sounds. That little push switch changes which direction the wheel throws the offcut. When I am cutting metal, I do not want sparks and shavings coming back at me. Flip it and they go the other way.

There is a drop-down guard that lets you set your depth of cut, and onboard storage for the discs so you can swap wheels without hunting for them. It runs on any 18V ONE+ battery.

Here is where it earned its spot. We put a gazebo on our deck for full roof coverage, and I ran gutter across the front of it. I used this tool to notch the gutter so the pieces fit together. It cut that gutter extremely well. That is a real job, not a demo, and it is the reason I call this the most versatile tool RYOBI has ever made.

RYOBI Microtechnology Screwdriver Kit Review (FVD02K)

This one released in the last week or so, and I ordered it the second I saw it. It is a micro driver bit kit built around a small electric screwdriver, and it is aimed at exactly what the box says. Eyeglasses, computers, and anything with screws small enough to strip if you look at them wrong.

What makes it good is how complete it is for the size. Inside you get the micro driver bits you actually need, an extension, a pry bar for splitting apart small electronics, and a set of tweezers for holding tiny screws. There are longer bits on one side and shorter ones on the other, and the extension adapts to the short ones.

The screwdriver recharges over USB-C, so your phone charger handles it. My favorite detail is the magnet on the bottom of the case. A Phillips bit will not pick up a screw until you touch it to that magnet, and then it will. You can magnetize any bit in the kit that way.

Close it and the whole thing is compact. Open it and the screwdriver pops up. The charging cable is included, and everything you need is inside. It is handy as a shirt pocket.

RYOBI USB Lithium Lights Compared: Which One Should You Buy

I have a flashlight problem. I have tested, used and owned a bunch of RYOBI work lights, and this year they added several more to the USB Lithium platform. They are all different enough that the right pick depends on what you are doing.

Light Model Light Style Best For
Pivoting Light FVL54K Focused beam, plus a laser pointer Walking, rucking, pointing something out
Inspection Light FVL56K-FVB02 Flat panel Working under or inside a vehicle
Headlamp FVL61K LED strip plus a spotlight mode Hands-free work where you need to aim the light
Area Light FVL59K Soft, non-harsh light Camping, tents, hanging light overhead

RYOBI USB Lithium Pivoting Light (FVL54K)

I bought this one a while back. The head pivots and locks straight or nearly 90 degrees either direction, and it has three modes, low, medium and high. Push and hold the button and you get a laser pointer, which is worth it just for the cat.

I have gotten into rucking, which means a heavy pack and a walk through the neighborhood. My pack is around 45 pounds and it has a strap I can clip this light to. I always ruck in the dark, so being seen matters more than seeing.

RYOBI USB Lithium Inspection Light (FVL56K-FVB02)

This is the newer one, and for rucking it might be the better pick. Same profile as the pivoting light, but the light itself is flat and wide instead of focused. It has low, medium and high, and the same clip.

Both of these have magnetic bases. Stick them to any metal object and you have hands-free light. If you are working inside or under a car, that is the feature you will actually use.

RYOBI USB Lithium Magnetic Headlamp (FVL61K)

When I saw this one I realized I did not own a headlamp and I needed one. It does more than a standard headlamp, though. The light pivots up and down so you can put it exactly where you need it, whether that is above you, straight down or straight ahead.

That works because the headband base is magnetic and the light clicks onto it. Pull the light off the band and you can stick it to metal instead. You get a bright LED strip with low, medium and high, plus a separate spotlight mode when you need something more direct.

RYOBI USB Lithium Area Light (FVL59K)

This one acts almost like a small lantern. It puts out a soft light instead of a harsh one, with the same low, medium and high settings. It has a hanger for putting it up above you and a carabiner for clipping it to a pack.

If you are packing in, sitting in a tent, or just want extra light somewhere without a harsh beam, this is the one. Run time on all of these USB Lithium lights is insanely long, and the batteries recharge.

RYOBI USB Lithium Charger and Power Source (FVCH03)

With this many USB Lithium tools, you need a way to charge the batteries. You can charge them in the tool, or you can load three at a time into this. They charge one at a time and the lights change color as each one finishes.

The part that makes it worth owning is that it is also a power bank. Plug a USB-C cable into the bottom and it will charge an iPad, a phone or whatever else you have. If a storm knocks the power out and you already own these batteries, you already own a power pack.

RYOBI 3000 Lumen Spotlight (PCL661B)

If you are on the 18V platform instead of USB Lithium, this is the light to look at. It is 3,000 max lumens and it will blind your neighbors if you have any. If you do not, and you just have a field you want lit up like daylight, this is the way to go.

It is big without being unreasonable. Pushing the trigger cycles low, medium and high, and there is a spot to hang it. Somebody creeping around the backyard gets hit with 3,000 lumens.

Having a few lights like this around for emergencies or for working on things is just common sense. You always have light available. If you want to see what else is worth grabbing on this platform right now, I keep a running list of the current RYOBI deals at The Home Depot.

The Best RYOBI Tools for Your Truck

If you have a vehicle, three of these could save you a tow, a service station trip, or an afternoon. This is the group I would keep in a truck.

RYOBI 18V Jump Starter (P7101A)

This runs off an 18V battery you already own. Pop the battery in, push and hold the motor icon they call prime, and it tells you when it is ready to start. Then you jump the vehicle.

If you have a dead battery, that gets you up and running. It also has a light with a couple of modes, which is mostly about being seen on the side of the road. You know how frustrating a dead battery is. This handles it.

RYOBI 18V Tire Inflator (PCL001B)

I bought this one last year and I have used it more times than I can count. Temperatures change and tires go low. Or there is a nail in one and I need to get to the service station.

You put in a battery, push the power button, set the pressure you want, and it airs up and stops on its own. That is the whole operation. Crazy good value for something that saves you from changing a tire on the shoulder.

RYOBI ONE+ HP 3/8 inch Ratchet (PSBRC26B)

This works with the 3/8 inch sockets you probably already own, and there is a 1/4 inch version if that fits your set better. It is not a tool with a long feature list. It is a ratchet and it works.

There is a flip switch that locks the trigger out so it will not fire, and you set direction on the back of the head like any other ratchet. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. It is ONE+ HP, so it is brushless with good power and good battery life.

This is not just a vehicle tool either. Putting things together around the house or the shop, it earns its keep.

RYOBI 18V 23 Gauge Pin Nailer Review

I love pin nailers, and I have used them a ton around the shop. A pin nail is tiny and has no head, which is where the name comes from. It is about the size of a pin.

What they are good for is tacking on small pieces where a bigger nail would split the wood. Just as important, there is no nail head sticking out that you have to fill later. I have used pin nailers on a miter station and on my router station to attach small quarter inch trim.

This one works exactly the same way. Load pin nails, put an 18V battery on it, and you are driving pins. I already have the RYOBI 18 gauge brad nailer, which I think is one of the better value brad nailers out there. Being able to add the 23 gauge to that makes me happy.

RYOBI Handheld Inflator and Blower (PCL016B)

RYOBI markets this for pool floats and air mattresses, but that is not why I keep one around. In the shop it is a blower. I use it to dust off the workbench, dust off tools, and blow dust out of crevices.

It also dusts me off before I go in the house, which keeps me out of trouble with the misses. A lot of people use these for automotive detailing, blowing water out from around headlights and door handles so they do not leave water spots.

It comes with four different tips for different airflow volumes and a small bag to keep them in. My one complaint is storage. You can keep one tip on the base and one up top, so two of the four ride onboard. I wish there was a spot for the others. If you do not have a small blower yet, it is a nice pickup.

RYOBI 40V Power Station Review (RYi1802BT)

This is the one that could save your life, or at least save you from being bored to death. It is a 40V power inverter, and there is an 18V version as well. When the lights go out, this keeps your devices charged and runs other electrical devices.

You get three 120V outlets on the front, plus USB-C and USB-A ports. Power it up and a screen shows how many batteries are loaded and their charge levels. There are four battery slots, and RYOBI recommends at least a 5Ah battery per slot.

Push and hold the number two button to activate the 120V outlets. They are all 15 amp circuits, and the screen gives you a load level out of 100 percent so you know how hard you are pushing it. There is a work light on the front with two modes and a red light option.

It comes with a power cord, so it doubles as a charger for the batteries connected to it. You can also connect it over Bluetooth to monitor everything from the app instead of walking over to read the screen.

If you already own 40V or 18V batteries, I think this is close to a must have. It might power a heater in an extreme emergency. Mostly it is a quality of life tool worth having around the house or the campsite. Larger EDGE batteries make more sense here than small packs, and you can see which RYOBI batteries are discounted right now before you buy four of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best new RYOBI tool of 2026?

My pick is the RYOBI 18V cut-off tool, model PSBCS02B. It cuts metal, tile and plastic depending on which wheel you put on it, so one tool covers jobs that normally take several. I used mine to notch gutter for a gazebo roof on our deck and it cut it extremely well.

Does the RYOBI cut-off tool cut metal?

Yes. It cuts metal, tile, plastic and more, with different cutter wheels available for different materials. It also has a forward and reverse switch so you can control which direction it throws sparks and shavings. When I am cutting metal I set it to throw away from me.

Are RYOBI USB Lithium lights worth it?

I think so, and I own several. Run time on the USB Lithium batteries is insanely long, the batteries recharge over USB-C, and they will also charge your phone. If you only buy one, get the magnetic headlamp for hands-free work or the area light for camping.

What can the RYOBI 40V power station run?

It has three 120V outlets on 15 amp circuits, plus USB-C and USB-A ports. The screen shows a load level out of 100 percent so you can see how hard you are pushing it. It could power something like a heater in an extreme emergency, but I mostly use it to keep devices going when the lights go out.

Do all these RYOBI tools use the same battery?

The 18V tools all run on RYOBI ONE+ batteries, so any ONE+ pack you already own will work. The lights run on the separate USB Lithium platform, which uses small rechargeable batteries that also work as phone power banks. The power station comes in both a 40V and an 18V version.

Is a 23 gauge pin nailer worth buying if I have a brad nailer?

If you do small trim work, yes. A pin nail has no head, so it will not split thin pieces and it leaves nothing to fill. I use pin nailers for quarter inch trim on things like a miter station or a router station, where a brad nail would be too much.
