What Is RIDGID NUKE?
RIDGID NUKE is the next evolution of RIDGID's 18V cordless platform — a subcompact brushless lineup engineered specifically for tight spaces, overhead work, and long workdays. RIDGID is calling it the most compact, lightest weight, with more power where it counts, and it's purpose-built for jobsite conditions: drops, debris, and the wear-and-tear of full-time use.
The headline takeaway: every NUKE tool is 100% compatible with every RIDGID 18V battery you already own. New platform, same battery. That alone is going to matter for anyone already invested in RIDGID 18V.

The NUKE 1/2" Drill/Driver delivers 750 in-lbs of torque in a body that weighs just 2.4 lbs and runs 20% shorter than RIDGID's previous compact drill. For overhead work, cabinet installs, or anything where you're reaching into a stud bay or under a sink, that shorter length is the real selling point.

RIDGID is claiming 30% faster driving speed — which, if it holds up in real-world use, is going to be felt on every long deck-screw or framing job. Same 2,000 in-lbs, 3,800 RPM, 5,000 IPM as the standard impact — but with three adjustable speeds plus a dedicated self-tapping mode for precise control. The self-tap mode is the big differentiator: it stops the tool once the screw is fully seated, which prevents the classic problems of overdriving, snapping fasteners, or stripping out softer materials. If you do a lot of finish work, sheet metal, or anything where torque control matters more than raw speed, this is the upgrade pick.

Oil pulse drivers are a category most homeowners haven't heard of, but they're becoming standard issue for finish carpenters and cabinet installers because of one stat: 73% quieter than a standard impact driver. RIDGID is also claiming 2X faster driving on this one, thanks to extended torque intervals that sustain consistent force rather than the hammering pulse of a traditional impact.
Same 4-mode speed control as the RNKSID02, plus a Tri-Beam LED that distributes light evenly around the bit instead of just one direction. If you work in occupied homes, do any cabinet or interior trim work, or just don't want to wear hearing protection for every screw — this is the driver to watch.

A 4-1/2" subcompact circular saw isn't going to replace your 7-1/4" worm drive — but it doesn't need to. With a 1-9/16" depth of cut, it'll rip through 2x4 dimensional lumber in a single pass, and at 50% lighter weight than a standard cordless circ, it's the kind of saw you actually keep on your belt instead of leaving in the truck. RIDGID is rating it at 475 linear feet per charge, which is real-world strong for a tool this size.
The 5,300 RPM, 0-45° bevel, electronic blade brake, metal guard, and onboard dust port are what put this firmly in the "pro tool, just smaller" category rather than a homeowner toy.

RIDGID 18V NUKE Subcompact Brushless High Speed Blower

At $79 tool-only, this one's easy to recommend on price alone. 350 MPH and 40 CFM for clearing sawdust off a workbench, dust off a deck, or blowing out a saw cut — and here's the trick: swap the nozzle and it converts into a high-volume inflator with included speed, inflation, and pinch valve nozzles. So you've got a shop blower, a workspace cleanup tool, and a way to air up balls, floats, or inflatables — one tool, three jobs.
Variable speed trigger plus a lock-on for extended cleanup work, removable rear cap for filter cleaning, and LED light. The kind of small tool that ends up living on the workbench permanently.

Bottom Line: Should You Wait for RIDGID NUKE?
If you're already in the RIDGID 18V ecosystem, this is an easy yes — the platform compatibility means you're not buying into a new battery system, just newer, smaller, faster tools that use what you already own. The Stealth Force Oil Pulse Driver and the 4-1/2" Circular Saw are the two I'm watching most closely; both have the potential to be category-leaders at their price points.
If you're shopping a new 18V platform from scratch, NUKE makes RIDGID a much more serious contender than it was a year ago — and the Lifetime Service Agreement (free parts, free service for life with registration) is still the strongest warranty in cordless power tools.
