⚡ What Makes the KREG Cordless Track Saw Special
This is KREG’s first-ever cordless power tool, built on their all-new Blue Ion 20V battery platform. They came out swinging with a full lineup that includes the cordless track saw, router, drill/driver, and even a pocket hole joiner — something no other company is doing.
KREG isn’t trying to make tools for everyone. They’re designing tools specifically for woodworkers, and that focus really shows with this track saw.
Key Features
Cordless freedom without sacrificing power
True plunge-cut design for accurate, safe starts
Anti-kickback system and built-in riving knife for extra safety
Variable speed dial (1–6) for controlled cuts
2-1/8 inch max depth of cut — enough for 2-inch hardwoods
Smooth single-post depth adjustment for precise settings
Bevel range from -1° to 47° for angled cuts
KREG’s longer 63-inch guide rail gives you complete entry and exit when cutting plywood

🧪 Real-World Testing and Results
I tested this saw on everything from plywood to 2-inch walnut, and here’s what I found:
On 3/4-inch plywood, it cut clean and smooth with zero bogging down.
My first test unit shut off during hardwood cuts — turns out it was defective. KREG immediately replaced it and the new one ripped through 2-inch walnut with no issues.
On a single 4Ah battery, I got about 192 feet of cutting, which is impressive runtime for a new cordless platform.
That’s what stood out the most: KREG’s customer service. They overnighted me a replacement and made it right immediately. I’ve been using KREG tools since 2017 and they’ve always treated customers like family.
🔋 Corded vs Cordless
The new cordless model has three big differences compared to the corded version:
It’s cordless, powered by the Blue Ion 20V battery.
It has variable speed control, while the newer corded versions do not.
It uses a thin-kerf blade, improving efficiency and cutting performance on battery power.
Everything else — the depth scale, bevel system, plunge action, and overall ergonomics — is nearly identical between the two. If you already love the corded version, this feels instantly familiar but adds total mobility.

💭 My Honest Take
The KREG Cordless Track Saw proves that KREG isn’t just testing the waters in power tools — they’re making serious gear built for woodworkers.
It’s comfortable, powerful, accurate, and thoughtfully designed with features like the anti-kickback system and smooth plunge action. If you mostly break down plywood or want a cordless setup to go with KREG’s new Rebel Pocket Hole Joiner or router, this saw is absolutely worth considering.
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it, especially knowing KREG stands behind their products 100%.
