🧪 Real-World Testing and Results

I tested this saw on everything from plywood to 2-inch walnut, and here’s what I found:

• On 3/4-inch plywood, it cut clean and smooth with zero bogging down.

• My first test unit shut off during hardwood cuts — turns out it was defective. KREG immediately replaced it and the new one ripped through 2-inch walnut with no issues.

• On a single 4Ah battery, I got about 192 feet of cutting, which is impressive runtime for a new cordless platform.

That’s what stood out the most: KREG’s customer service. They overnighted me a replacement and made it right immediately. I’ve been using KREG tools since 2017 and they’ve always treated customers like family.

🔋 Corded vs Cordless

The new cordless model has three big differences compared to the corded version:

1. It’s cordless, powered by the Blue Ion 20V battery.

2. It has variable speed control, while the newer corded versions do not.

3. It uses a thin-kerf blade, improving efficiency and cutting performance on battery power.

Everything else — the depth scale, bevel system, plunge action, and overall ergonomics — is nearly identical between the two. If you already love the corded version, this feels instantly familiar but adds total mobility.
