10 of the Best Tools I Found at Lowe's

If you scanned the QR code from my latest video, welcome. You landed in the right spot. Every tool and every link from the haul is right here, all in one place.

I walked the aisles at Lowe's and pulled out what I think are some of the best tools you can buy right now. We are talking real deals, honest opinions, and a few that I think will sell out fast. Some are perfect for beginner woodworkers. Some belong in every shop, garage, and truck. And one of them earned a rare 10 out of 10 on the Outlaw meter.

In this post you will learn what each tool does, who it is for, what it costs, and whether it is worth your money. Let's get into it.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. It helps keep the tool deals coming, so thanks for your support. Prices are valid at the time of posting but are subject to change at any time.

Quick Links: Every Tool From This Lowe's Haul

Here is the full list so you can jump straight to whatever caught your eye. I broke down each one further down the page.

Heads up before we dive in. A lot of these are limited time deals, and the most popular bare tools tend to sell out first. If something speaks to you, do not wait too long.

1. DeWalt Starter Kit With Two Free Bare Tools

This might be the hottest deal at Lowe's right now. Right now you can grab a DeWalt starter kit with two 5Ah batteries and two free bare tools. That is rare. Most combo kits only throw in one free tool.

I picked the trim router and the cut off tool because that is what my shop needed. You get to pick your own. There is also a single free tool version if that fits you better.

How to claim your two free DeWalt tools

The process trips a lot of folks up, so here is the quick version:

  1. On the Lowe's product page, click Choose Your Products.
  2. Deselect anything that is already pre-selected, like the jigsaw. Just hit the minus button.
  3. Add in the two bare tools you actually want.

This offer runs through July 15, 2026, but it can vary by location. The popular bare tools sell out, so move early.

DeWalt 20V Trim Router

I have owned this DeWalt 20V trim router for a long time, and I love it. The micro adjust depth ring is one of the best on the market. You turn the ring and dial in the exact depth on your bits.

  • Plenty of power for the work most of us do
  • Variable speed control
  • Dual LEDs on the bottom for visibility
  • A D-base that gives you more control on edge profile work

If you are getting into woodworking, a trim router is one of the most useful tools you can own. This is a great one to start with.

DeWalt 20V Cut Off Tool

I grabbed this cut off tool because I did not have one and kept needing it. It comes with three blades, including a metal cutting blade and a masonry or tile blade.

It is very compact, so it gets into tight spaces. It also has forward and reverse, which is a smart safety feature. You can throw the sparks the opposite direction from your body. Always wear eye protection when you cut metal with this. Those sparks are no joke.

2. Craftsman V20 Polisher That Doubles as a Sander

This is the Craftsman tool nobody is talking about, and I am genuinely excited about it. They market the Craftsman V20 polisher for polishing, but there is a second use case that a lot of woodworkers will love.

As a polisher, it comes with three foam pads: a finishing pad, a cutting pad, and a correcting pad. Great for epoxy serving trays, foggy headlights, and automotive detailing.

Here is the part I care about. Swap on a 3 inch hook and loop pad and it becomes an aggressive orbital sander at 6,000 RPM. A 3 inch sander is hard to find at this price. It shines in tight spots like inside cabinets and boxes.

One honest drawback. There is no onboard dust collection, which is common for tiny sanders like this. So wear a dust mask and eye protection when you run it. Your lungs will thank you later.

3. Craftsman Advanced V20 Batteries

Craftsman has officially entered the tabless battery game. These Advanced V20 batteries give you more power, more run time, and better efficiency than the previous generation.

Right now the advanced starter kit with the charger is $100 off. It dropped from $199 down to $99 through July 22. As always, that price can vary by location and change at any time.

There is also a two battery starter kit with a free bare tool, and you can pick that excellent Craftsman V20 router I reviewed last year. I was blown away by that router for the money.

4. Bosch 18V EXPERT Batteries

If you are in the Bosch 18V platform, you will want a look at the new EXPERT line. These are tabless batteries too, built with the newest tech for more power and longer life.

A few months back, Lowe's invited me to an event where I saw a pile of brand new Bosch tools coming down the pipe. The EXPERT batteries were one of the stars of the show. Grab the 4Ah EXPERT battery or the 8Ah EXPERT battery depending on your needs.

5. DeWalt StealthSonic Shop Vac

Last year I got called a liar over this one. The DeWalt StealthSonic shop vac claims to be up to 50 percent quieter than a standard shop vac. Folks thought my editor manipulated the sound. He did not.

It is genuinely quiet. You can hold a conversation while it runs. For a small shop, that is a real quality of life upgrade.

  • 6 gallon tank and 4 horsepower
  • Compact design that suits small shops
  • Comes with a filter and a bag
  • Includes hose attachments and the usual accessories

That bag matters more than people realize. If you use a shop vac for dust collection, the filter clogs fast. The bag catches the fine stuff, keeps your suction strong, and makes the filter last longer.

6. Klein Tools 250th Anniversary Screwdriver Set

We all know Klein makes really good stuff. I have several Klein products and have liked every one. This 250th USA anniversary screwdriver set caught my eye, and I had to grab it.

It is a set of three screwdrivers built to celebrate the country turning 250 years old. You get a square drive, also called a Robertson, a flathead, and a Phillips. They carry the 250 logo and are made right here in the USA.

Best part. Special edition kits are usually pricey. This one is not. These are just solid, everyday shop screwdrivers you will reach for all the time.

7. Craftsman 242-Piece VersaStack Mechanics Tool Set

If you need more than a screwdriver, this one will blow you away on price. The Craftsman 242-piece mechanics tool set includes SAE and metric tools in a three drawer VersaStack.

  • The front labels show which drawer is 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 inch drive
  • Deep and shallow sockets, all sorted and easy to find
  • Hidden bays for Allen keys and extra tools behind the drawers
  • Solid ratchets that feel good in the hand
  • SAE and metric wrenches plus space for small parts
  • Lockable top drawers so nothing spills

When the old 10 millimeter goes missing, at least you will know where it belongs. Here is the insane part. It is $130 off until July 8, 2026, which brings the whole kit to just $99. You better get it.

It is a VersaStack, so it stacks and locks with your other VersaStack gear. Want to build it out? Add the VersaStack 2 drawer tool box and the VersaStack bit set.

8. DeWalt Inflator and Blower

This is a DeWalt tool that belongs in every shop, even if you do not run DeWalt batteries. The DeWalt inflator and blower airs up tires, mattresses, and pool floats, then blows dust off your workbench in seconds.

Here is the trick that sold me. Inside the end cap is a 12V car adapter. You can air up your car tires with no battery at all. Throw it in the trunk for emergencies and air up a low tire on the road.

  • Switches between blower mode and tire mode
  • Built-in light so you can see what you are doing
  • Runs off 12V or the 20V battery

There is nothing more frustrating than a low tire when you are ready to leave. This solves that.

9. DeWalt Elite Driver Bit Set

If you watch the channel, you know I have a driver bit problem. Hello, my name is Matt and I have a bit problem. This DeWalt Elite series bit set is built to be a little tougher and last a little longer.

You get two nut drivers, Phillips, Torx, and several other bits. Good value for what you get. If you do not own a decent bit set yet, this is an easy pickup for any beginner shop.

10. Lowe's Viral Mini Bucket

Did you know these are going viral? These little mini buckets from Lowe's have a top that pops off, and people are using them for everything.

  • Hold spare screws and small parts around the shop
  • Corral pens and pencils at your desk
  • Folks are even drinking coffee out of them

I bought four and one is already gone because somebody took it. Grab a few extra. Your family is going to want some too.

11. Mileseey Digital Tape Measure

I have reviewed Mileseey products before, and they make good stuff. This digital tape measure is three tools in one. You get a physical tape, a digital measurer, and a laser distance measure.

  • On screen memory that keeps your previous measurement handy
  • Multiple units, including meters, feet, and feet with inches
  • A laser for quick room measurements
  • A belt clip so it rides with you

If you measure rooms or larger spaces often, this one earns its spot on your belt.

12. The 4-in-1 RUBI Workbench (My 10 Out of 10 Pick)

This might be the coolest tool I have ever found at Lowe's. The 4-in-1 RUBI workbench is a workbench, scaffolding, a dolly, and a creeper. All in one. I almost walked right past it.

Flip four latches and the textured scaffolding top becomes a finished MDF workbench top. The bench side even has a miter scale and measurements down each edge for quick rough layout.

What makes it so good

  • Workbench mode: fold-out adjustable legs put it at a comfortable mid thigh height
  • Scaffolding mode: about 21 and a half inches of lift, nearly two feet off the ground
  • Dolly mode: straight casters on one end, pivoting casters on the other
  • Creeper mode: roll right under a car or a project
  • Weighs just over 30 pounds with a built-in handle, so it travels easy
  • Holds up to 440 pounds as a dolly and 330 pounds as scaffolding
  • Folds flat for minimal storage

I weigh about 205 pounds, more if I have had cake, and it held me with zero wobble. It even makes a great seat at the perfect height.

Use it safely

This is a sturdy piece of kit, but respect the limits. Read the manual that comes with it. Do not use it in scaffolding mode with the legs fully extended. The manual says to use the lower setting, so do that. Lock every leg and caster before you climb on or load it down.

I just moved two of my adult kids into new homes a week apart. I wish I had owned this then. At under $200 for a tool that does this much, it is priced extremely well. This one is a 10 out of 10 on the Outlaw meter, and I think it sells out fast.
